9 Easy and Free Crochet Flower Patterns

#Flower Pad Free Pattern

If you need to quickly and easily decorate your hat or bag, this lightweight crochet floral pattern is perfect. I designed it many years ago and it has decorated many hats, including my favorite winter beanie! It comes in 2 sizes, so you can choose the one that suits you best!
Crochet flower patterns are perfect for a wide variety of projects. They can be used as appliqués on anything from hats to shoes. Crocheted flowers can be tied together in an oatmeal shape, placed on tables as coasters, and used in large-scale artwork including yarn bombardment. You will find an almost endless variety of patterns that you can use to create specific flowers (like roses and sunflowers) as well as non-specific flowers of all sizes. This collection of 25 patterns features simple and creative flowers.

This kitchen flower pad is constructed first by making a crochet hexagon. We’ll be making a more closed motif, since we don’t want too many holes in this pattern. Then we’ll make 5 more for a total of 6 hexagons.

After making the hexagons, we’ll use a single crochet stitch along just 2 sides of each hexagon near the top. We’ll connect them in the corners with the single crochet edging. Then we’ll take a double strand of yarn and weave it in the center section to tie, knot, and secure it.
