Knitting and Crochet Bag Patterns Ideas for Any Choice
#Gingham Tote Bag Free Pattern
Carry all of your essential items, create ease in shopping or take a trip to the beach with this gorgeous gingham crochet tote. Worked in two panels and seamed, this project is straight forward and has a lovely finish.
This pattern is written in US terms.
My swatch of 10 sc x 10 rows is approximately 2 ¼” by 2 ¼”.
Height – Approximately 15 inches
Width – Approximately 13 inches
Handle – Approximately 13 inches high from tote to mid point on handle.
This pattern assumes you already know how to gingham crochet. If you do not, I’ve created this tutorial to get you started.
I used approximately 3/4 of a skein of each color. Any medium(4) weight you prefer to use is fine, you do not have to use the colors I did. I used acrylic yarn, but you can use cotton if you prefer. Please keep in mind that this can change the dimensions of the bag.
#Square Bottom Tote Bag Free Pattern
I just love crochet patterns that look more intricate than they are. This is definitely the case with a square bottom crochet tote bag. This bag starts with a simple sturdy granny square and then with just a few rows of drop off you have the perfect bag on the go.
Below you will find the full pattern and tutorial photos for this crochet tote bag. You will also find all materials, stitches, size and measurement information. If you want all this in a nicely formatted printable format, you can purchase the Ad Free Large Print PDF Template.
#Tulip Bouquet Tote Bag Free Pattern
So it’s been both a great and a difficult week. On the one hand, toddler potty training went AMAZINGLY well. Rugs have been reopened, how good is that. BUT, I’m going crazy. I look after my toddler, crochet and occasionally read a book, and I DIE for the ability to leave the house and go to a restaurant. This social distance is difficult. The most exciting thing I’ve done lately is going to different store websites, adding about $ 50 worth of thread to my cart, and then unloading the car and getting nothing. It is disappointing. But I have 2395 ideas in my head and I have to use some of the yarn I have before I can buy more. Partly because I don’t have that much space and partly because I don’t want to decide on a project for an ordeal, but to realize that I need another strawberry half way through and it’s impossible for me to find it.

#Suzette Market Bag Free Pattern
Made with modified Suzette stitch. How did I find this?
I’ve always liked knitting Suzette stitch, which is sc + dc in the same area. So when I was making my wine boxes for the Christmas fair last year, I wanted to add a pattern in addition to the shell stitching (green and white cases). I used the suzette stitch and added a chain between each sc + dc to make it look more transparent. And I crochet it in continuous rounds to get the spiral texture of the red bag.

Candy Corn Drawstring Backpack Crochet Pattern
Hey all! So today I bring with me a Halloween-inspired backpack with a drawstring that the children can take with them. It’s fun, easy to make and it’s big enough to collect candy to feed a small army of kids (just kidding). On the other hand, if you are not interested in it, it can be used as a sweet accessory during the Halloween season. I hope you have fun doing and using it!

Cactus Tote Crochet Pattern
This handbag is specially designed to impress the barista at your local stylish café / vegan bakery. No really! The whole time I was crocheting this baby, I fantasized about saunating in my local vegan bakery (I’m lactose intolerant), ordering an overpriced cupcake, pulling my wallet out of my cactus bag, and watching the surprise spread across the cashier’s face. I made my tote myself to be thoroughly impressed with my smart chin skills. This is seriously what I daydream about.
Inspiration & Design:
Tote is made from a skein of Lion Brand’s Flikka Garn! You also need some worsted yarn and some Super Bulky. I used the color Dill Pickle because I could not resist the adorable name. Once I got home the yarn reminded me so much of a cactus that I jumped on the cactus trolley and whipped up my version of a cactus tote complete with a large blooming flower!
Easy Go To Purse Crochet Pattern
I used T-shirt yarn and from Knitz N Purlz. Irina at Knitz N Purlz was kind enough to send me this yarn to create this pattern. The quality of the yarn is fantastic and I dream of projects in the large color assortments she has. I highly recommend Knitz N Purlz T-Shirt Yarn for your next project. You have to buy handles separately and I found mine on Amazon. I found that having nice handles is a business maker for the predominant look and use of this bag.
Wanderlust Chevron Backpack Crochet Pattern
Wanderlust Chevron Backpack is the perfect crocheted backpack to take with you on your everyday adventures. It easily holds a pair of sunglasses, sunscreen for bottles, chapstick, cell phone, bottle of water, earbuds, a book, snacks (or a lunch if you plan to hike for the day) … and many more things. The combination of Lion Brand Yarn’s 24/7 cotton and simple crochet stitches gives this crocheted backpack its classic appeal. Crocheted ropes work well for the straps because they do not stretch like most other crocheted straps have a tendency to do.
Check out the wonderful photos taken by my friend Bethany from Frozen Moment’s Photography!
If you choose to use a yarn with a different fiber content, such as an acrylic like Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice, you can really do it. Just remember that acrylic will be tighter so I suggest the straps be a little shorter to compensate for that!
Skully Corn Bag Crochet Pattern
This pattern is for a Tunisian crochet Halloween trick or treat bag for little ones. The way the pattern is written, the bag will be worked as a rectangle and seamed then a handle will be added at the top by working to the desired length.
This pattern uses a few Tunisian crochet techniques – video tutorials are linked throughout the pattern.
